On an O/U Beretta shotgun, with the SST (selectable) trigger group, all you select is which barrel fires FIRST. After the first shot is fired, the gun will (should) automatically switch over to the other barrel and be ready to fire it with no action needed on your part other than to pull the trigger to shoot the second shot.
